MDR On the Move!

Posted in MDR General at 10:05 pm by Administrator

Mother’s Day Radio is on the move and in action in the community!  We have had a wonderful level of support from community individuals and organizations who want to contribute in some way to honoring the positive identity and value of women through rhythm and song.

To Pearl Jr., activist and author of Black Women Need Love Too! (www.Blackwomenneedlovetoo.com) and Lacey C. Clark!, life coach and author of Celebrate HER Now (www.Celebratehernow.com), MDR thanks You for reaching out and supporting our efforts!

Welcome to the newest youth organization to join our coalition, Los Angeles based Agape Young Women’s Mentorship Program.   We had a fantastic gathering!  Keep delving into those deep questions and exploring self-determination in defining your womanhood.

The MDR Women’s Circle is eagerly anticipating our next monthly gathering on Saturday, July 22, 2006.  This is an important time in our Circle, as MDR is entering into a huge phase of development and expansion!

The end of July is capped off with our VIP Garden Tea Fundraiser in Santa Monica, CA.

Thanks for the LOVE and the outreach to those of you who heard me on KJLH last week!  That was fun!  We’ll be doing more soon.  We’ll keep you updated on MDR’s upcoming radio and television spots in August.

For youth and community organizations interested in becoming actively involved in the variety of MDR efforts, please contact our Director of Service Opportunities, Letitia@mothersdayradio.com.  Your support is welcome!

Look for information about MDR in StepUp Women’s Network’s next bi-weekly newsletter (www.stepupwomensnetwork.org).

Thank you to the generous donors who are helping to support the operations of Mother’s Day Radio.  We appreciate you and look forward to our continued relationship.

Individuals interested in supporting our efforts, please visit our online petition and SIGN YOUR NAME!  The more signatures we collect, the more we send the message to the media companies and record labels that we CARE about what we listen to and we want quality music that respectfully represents who we are as women in this world!  www.petitiononline.com/60806/petition.html.

The coalition of Mother’s Day Radio, appreciates the community’s support.
