Mother’s Day Radio has taken on an enormous task. We are asking the radio stations to adjust their programming for one day in order to let their listeners hear music that respectfully reflects the character and value of our mothers, our sisters, our daughters, and the women of society. This gesture of respect for women from the media companies is a bold move for any radio station that makes this Mother’s Day Pledge. The supporters of MDR are working diligently to see this happen nationwide.
We request your help. Your tax deductible donation will help to support this work and the creation of a magnificent album that will recognize non-sexual, valuable attributes of women. It will help to support our groundbreaking work to have positive, self-affirming messages of womanhood reflected in popular music in a way that supports the positive identity formation of our young sons and daughters.

Your Voice MATTERS!
Help to stop the denigration, objectification, and marginalization of women that is found in popular music today. Cease the identity de-formation that is found in our young kings and young queens as they align themselves with the images of “pimps” and “hoes” that are glorified in the lyrics of many popular songs.
Call for a day of rest from the denigration and a day to uplift the value, honor, wisdom and strength of our mothers, sisters and daughters. Let us truly see the forums that we financially support give a gesture of respect to women on Mother’s Day weekend of 2007.
Read and sign our petition and three requests to the record labels, media companies, recording artists and community, calling for a day where we elevate the true value of women through lyric and song!

Greetings! Welcome to the home of Mother’s Day Radio, a project of Spirit Awakening Foundation! We are so excited about our launch. I want to thank all of you who have stepped up to the plate to assist us in moving forward this movement. The love and generosity of people from all over has been phenomenal.
We are glad we have given hope to so many of you. Feel free to post your comments. Email or call us toll free if you’d like to involve yourself or your organization in the work (”work is love made visible”) behind the movement.
